How DIY Design Works
Get a Quote
We need a signed Quote before beginning the job. You may fax, email or mail the quote.
Provide a Deposit
To start your job, we require a deposit of half down (50% of the quoted price). You can pay via Credit Card over the phone, or by check or money order.
Upload Your PDF
Upload your text PDF to us, or mail a CD. When we receive the files, we will take 3 business days to validate them.
Start your order
When they arrive we will go through your materials and a representative will contact you. We will check your file within 3 business days, and email a link to your online proof, or print and mail the proof. The printed proof will be digitally printed. The cover will be hand-trimmed and wrapped around the text, but will not be laminated or bound with the text.
Turnaround Time
Take as long as you like to review the proof. Keep in mind, however, that the production clock does not begin until we have received a signed proof form that the job is ready for printing. Allow one week for changes or to process new PDF files. There are charges for each additional proof. See Prepress Rates. If you have several rounds of proofs, this will cause time delays. The production clock does not start until we have received the final "okay" from your signed proof form. From this point, it takes:
- Digitally printed softcover books:2-3 weeks
- Offset printed softcover books: 3-4 weeks
- Hardcover books (all types): 6-7 weeks
- Spiral bound books: 3-4 weeks
