People do judge a book by its cover. For the last 15 years, we have designed hundreds of book covers, each one representing a unique collaboration between author and designer. We take pride in our ability to visualize and conceptualize a cover that is not only beautiful, but will work as an effective tool to help you market your book and get you noticed by readers, booksellers and distributors. Custom Cover Design is a collaborative process. Often you, the author, will develop a design concept in your mind while you are engaged in the writing process. We take a combination of your ideas, pictures and your text content to create the best look for your cover. We can also purchase professional online images to enhance your cover design. We charge between $400.00 to $500.00 to completely design your book cover, including typesetting, design and a first proof.

Custom Text Design: Designing a readable and attractive page of text is a subtle art. Let us use our expertise to provide optimum impact. We custom design text page layouts ranging in price from $2.25 to $3.50 per page. More complex layouts (graphs, charts, etc.) may result in additional charges.

You can type your book in just about any wordprocessing program (MSWord, Wordperfect, Publisher and more), PC or Mac., and we will import your files into Adobe InDesign, a professional page layout program. It is best to have the whole book saved as a single file, with no graphics or photos included. Using standard styles in MSWord when you type your book will make the text importing procedure quick and accurate. Editorial corrections can be made at an hourly rate after the files come to us, but we recommend you submit your files in a final edited form to avoid additional charges.

Steps if We Design It

1. Use our Instant Quote to view a price and print a quote and checklist.

2. Mail us the printed quote, completed checklist along with a deposit (of half down) and your files.

3. Upon receipt, we will contact you to get the design process started. The design process takes 1-3 weeks.

4. We will email rough cover designs for review and discussion. For complex text layout, we will email a few sample pages first.

5. The design will be fine-tuned and mailed to you as a printed proof copy for review.

6. Once you have approved the design for printing, the production process starts.
